City of Casper Announces April Branch Collection Begins Today

By Staff Report April 1, 2026 • 7:00 AM

The City of Casper's annual spring branch collection service begins today, with garbage collection customers able to place bundled branches curbside for pickup on their designated April collection weeks.

The curbside branch pickup service runs throughout April and is available to all residential garbage collection customers at no additional charge. Branches will be collected alongside regular trash on each customer's normal pickup day.

The city asks residents to follow these guidelines for branch collection:

  • Branches must be bundled and no longer than 6 feet in length
  • Individual branches should be no more than 4 inches in diameter
  • Bundles should not exceed 50 pounds
  • Branches should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day
  • Do not place branches in or on top of garbage containers

"Spring cleanup is an important time for our residents, and the branch collection program makes it easy to keep yards and properties looking their best," said Casper Solid Waste Division manager Rick Hobbs.

The program is designed to handle branches from seasonal pruning and storm damage. Residents with larger quantities of brush or tree debris are encouraged to haul material to the Casper Regional Landfill, where yard waste is accepted at standard rates.

The city noted that this year's branch collection may be especially busy due to wind damage from the severe gusts experienced throughout March. Sustained winds of 30 mph or more were recorded on multiple days this month, with gusts exceeding 50 mph in some areas.

Residents with questions about their collection schedule can contact Casper Solid Waste at (307) 235-8246 or visit the city's website.
